WEEKEND COURSE STRUCTURE

Saturday 27th April  11am – 5pm

This will be an introductory workshop for complete beginners. The session will run from 11am – 5pm, with a 1hr lunch break in the middle. Daf drums will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a packed lunch and drink.

Sunday 28th April 11am – 5pm

The Sunday session is open to anyone who has already completed an introductory session. So beginners who have attended the Saturday session are welcome to join regular students on the Sunday. The day will also run from 11am – 5pm with a 1hr lunch break. Daf drums will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a packed lunch and drink.

COST

All of our workshops are run on a non-profit basis, so the cost is purely to cover room hire and any surplus is donated to charity.

Cost for booking 1 day is £30 (plus eventbrite fees), but if you wish to book for both days you will be given a discount code upon booking the first day whereby the second day will only be £20, making it £50 for the two days (plus fees).

What to expect

This workshop provides an introduction to Heart Meditation, based on the principles outlined in the book “Heart Meditation”: www.heartmeditation.eu. Through the use of specific ancient rhythms, played on a Daf (hand frame) drum, this meditation technique guides the practitioner inwards on the path of inner peace. The workshop has both a theoretical and a practical element.

The theoretical discussions will be based on the following subjects:

• How to recognise and remove troublesome thoughts & stress from your daily life and outlook
• How to develop your connection to your heart through meditation
• How to develop your knowledge of your heart through personal experiences
• How to employ these techniques in your daily life and thus establish a continuous state of inner peace
• The practical element will involve each participant using their own Daf Drum to learn the first basic meditation rhythms. Drums will be provided.
